Angela Railton - Predatory Lacewings (pair)

ARTIST STATEMENT

Most of my inspiration comes from the natural world. I am an enthusiastic gardener. My gardening style is organic and spray free. I have recently discovered that introducing a little insect called a Predatory Lacewing to my garden environment is a very effective way to control unwelcome pests such as aphids. I thought it would be fun to create my interpretation of a Predatory Lacewing in porcelain. As you can see these girls have been busy and have a meal of aphids in their tummies.
