ARTIST STATEMENT
“Held in the Belly is rooted in the sensations of carrying what can’t easily be spoken. For me, the gut has always been the place where emotions sit first—tightening, knotting, or quietly pressing against the inside. Working in glass allows me to give form to those invisible tensions: it stretches, resists, and sometimes breaks, just like the body under strain. This work is about acknowledging what is stored within us—the memories, anxieties, and feelings we fold away. It is both a release and a reminder that the body keeps what the mind cannot always carry alone.”
