ARTIST STATEMENT

Vessel, a beautiful feminine shape, used through time to tell stories on.

My favourite material, variegated metal leaf is used to form patterns that repeat.

I was inspired by the beautiful Greek urns that I saw in the British museum in 2023. Objects from centuries ago, adorned with people and objects, that were so beautiful in their simplicity.

The stories told in this is artwork are the wave forms describing this island nation, the South Island robin, the unfurling fern fronds ever present in the South Island bush and the Mount Cook daisy.
