TE MANU TĪTĪ, TE MANAWA O TE TANGATA

The tītī, the heart of the people

The tītī migrates across the globe but always returns home. This installation celebrates tītī as a metaphor for identity and connectedness to Murihiku and our place in the world.

Te manu tītī, te manawa o te tangata was born at the Ngai Tahu Hui-a-Iwi 2019 and continues to grow here at He Waka Tuia.

By adding your tītī to the flock, you are actively participating in the creation of an artwork that will become an important piece of taonga, reflecting the multicultural community we call home.
