EVENT DETAILS
Step inside the gallery after dark for a Halloween experience like no other.
He Waka Tuia After Dark: Tales of Truth and Terror invites you to an evening of immersive storytelling by Senga White that blurs the line between truth and imagination.
The night begins with a lighthearted Halloween icebreaker to set the tone, before plunging into our first chilling story, an illustrated tale inspired by the true disappearance of three lighthouse keepers from the remote Flannan Isles in Scotland more than 100 years ago. As the story unfolds, guests will be surrounded by eerie soundscapes, dim lighting, and haunting visuals that bring every page to life with atmosphere and intrigue.
After a short intermission with snacks, the evening deepens into The October Game — an interactive storytelling experience that will test your nerves. In the darkness, guests will be blindfolded during the story’s climax, heightening every sound, every whisper, and every heartbeat. It’s an experience designed to make you feel the story as much as hear it.
This one-night-only event is crafted for adults and young adults who crave a more immersive, spine-tingling take on Halloween — a night where the gallery itself becomes part of the story.
