EVENT DETAILS
This year marks a significant milestone for the Invercargill Public Art Gallery as we celebrate 75 years of connecting our community with art, artists, and ideas. As we reflect on our rich history and look ahead to the opportunities and challenges of the future, we invite you to join us for our Annual General Meeting at 7pm on Thursday, September 17 at He Waka Tuia, 42 Kelvin Street.
The AGM is more than a business meeting. It is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Gallery's journey over the past 75 years, hear about the work being undertaken today, and learn about our vision for the future. Whether you're a long-time supporter, a member, an artist, or simply interested in the role arts and culture play in our region, this is a great chance to connect with our staff, board, and wider community.
If you're interested in taking a more active role in shaping the future of IPAG, we encourage you to consider joining our Board. To be eligible, you'll need to be a current paid member for 2025/26 and be nominated by another member. Board nomination forms must be submitted by Tuesday, September 15.
We're also delighted to welcome IPAG Patron Michael Deaker as this year's guest speaker. Michael will speak about Spring: What We Kept, a special exhibition celebrating the history of acquisitions from the Annual Spring Exhibition and the ILT Murihiku Art Awards. Presented as part of our 75th anniversary celebrations, the exhibition highlights decades of support for artists and demonstrates how community investment in art has helped shape the Gallery's collection over generations.
As we celebrate this important anniversary year, we invite you to be part of the conversation about where IPAG goes next. Join us to honour our past, celebrate our present, and help shape our future.
We'd love to see you there.
All AGM-related forms will be available on our website shortly.
