EVENT DETAILS
Inspired by the bust sculpture of Invercargill-born writer Dan Davin, created by artist Anthony Stones and currently on display in Forged, this Kids Create session invites tamariki to explore portrait sculpture in a hands-on way.
Using air-dry clay, children will design and sculpt their own mini busts - capturing facial features, expressions, and personality in three-dimensional form. Through shaping, smoothing, and refining their work, they’ll learn how artists use form and detail to tell a story.
Come ready to get creative!
Note: Participants can take their sculptures home on the day, or choose to have them displayed in one of our window cavities for a week. Works can then be collected at the next Kids Create session.
