For this special session of Kids Create, we’re celebrating Matariki with a heartfelt hands-on activity for tamariki and whānau.

Join us as we create our own Matariki Wishing Jars—a beautiful way to reflect on the past year and set hopes, dreams, goals, and prayers for the year ahead. Tamariki will write these on colourful paper, tuck them into their jars along with star beads, decorate the outside using paint pens, and seal their jar with a ribbon.

They’ll take their jars home and open them during the next Matariki—pausing to remember, give thanks, and see how far they’ve come.
