Invercargill’s Weekly Craft Hangout for Tamariki!
Looking for a creative, free, and relaxed after-school activity for your child? Kids Create at He Waka Tuia is the perfect place for tamariki to explore their artistic side, meet new friends, and spend quality time with their parents or guardians.
Every Thursday from 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM, we offer a space for children and their families to enjoy hands-on craft activities inspired by our current exhibitions. Whether they’re discovering a new hobby or getting creative with friends, there’s something for everyone. No need to book—just drop in and have fun!
Please note: Kids Create runs weekly during exhibitions and takes a short pause during changeover periods and during the school holidays.

Kids Create is currently on pause and will return on Thursday, 17 July 2025 with a new set of fun and exciting craft activities.
While Kids Create is on a short break, we invite you to experience PLAY 4—a hands-on exhibition filled with colourful zones designed to spark creativity and curiosity for all ages.
