The ILT Murihiku Art Awards 2025 are now open for entries - a nationally recognised award based in the heart of Southland, celebrating outstanding contemporary visual art in all its forms.

Presented in partnership by the Invercargill Public Art Gallery and the Southland Art Society, the awards offer artists from across the motu the opportunity to exhibit, connect, and be recognised for their work - with $20,000 in prize money on offer.

ILT Murihiku Art Awards 2025

Artists may submit up to two original works for selection, across any visual art medium - including painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewellery, photography/digital, graphic, or video-based work.

All entries must be:
• One-off original artworks
• Completed within the last 12 months
• Not previously exhibited in Murihiku

Entries close: 5pm, Friday 5th September 2025
Artists notified of selection: by 19th September 2025
We welcome established and emerging artists alike.

Online entry is preferred via the link above, but physical entry forms can also be collected from He Waka Tuia, 42 Kelvin Street, Invercargill.
